Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Qatar Charity Nigeria to strengthen humanitarian and social development cooperation across the state.
The MoU, signed at the Government House, Katsina, formalizes an existing partnership that has supported empowerment, education, and healthcare programmes in the state.
Governor Radda said the agreement represents his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of citizens, especially women, children, youths, and vulnerable groups.
“This signing creates shared responsibilities. As a government, we will meet our commitments and ensure the sustainability of all Qatar Charity projects in Katsina,” he said.
He commended Qatar Charity for its interventions in empowerment and healthcare, urging the organisation to extend its educational projects to Katsina as done in other states.
The Governor assured that the agreement would be implemented with transparency and accountability in line with his administration’s Building Your Future agenda, which prioritises human capital development.
Qatar Charity’s Country Director in Nigeria, Mr. Assem Abu Al Shaer, lauded Governor Radda’s people-oriented leadership, describing it as a model that attracts credible international partners.
He announced the donation of medical equipment to strengthen healthcare delivery in the state. According to him, all newly renovated Primary Healthcare Centres (PHCs) will receive Electronic Blood Pressure Machines, while 15 General Hospitals will get Electric Wheelchairs to support physically challenged patients.
Mr. Al Shaer reaffirmed Qatar Charity’s commitment to supporting Katsina in areas such as health, education, empowerment, and social welfare.
The Special Adviser on Girl-Child Education, Hon. Jamila Abdu Mani, who facilitated the agreement, expressed optimism that the collaboration would open new opportunities for women and girls.
“This partnership will make a real difference in education, healthcare, and empowerment. It represents hope and shared humanity,” she said.
The MoU outlines areas of cooperation, including school construction, scholarships, medical outreaches, social housing, empowerment initiatives, and water supply projects.
Governor Radda’s administration has continued to attract development partners through transparency and focus on human-centred governance.
